Applying oil - Mixtion Lefranc - 3 hours

25 ml - The Applying oil - Mixtion Lefranc, 3h, is recommended for gilding of smaller areas.

Mixtion Le France 3h is used to apply gold leaf on smooth surfaces (porcelain, metal, glass). Porous substrates such as unglazed ceramic or plaster of paris must be pretreated accordingly - e.g. by applying a barrier layer with lacquer or acrylic paint.
The Mixtion is an adhesive based on linseed oil.
If necessary, the mixture can also be diluted with turpentine oil or turpentine substitute in a ratio of up to 1: 1.
The mixture must be applied very thinly and evenly, e.g. with a red sable hair brush. Then the coated surface is peeled off in one direction with a fine leather, a lint-free cloth or a sponge.
The evaporation time for "Mixtion Le France 3h" is between 2 and 3.5 hours and the open time in which the gold leaf can be applied is between 0.5 and 1 hour.
The drying time and the open time depend on the thickness of the application, the nature of the substrate, the room temperature and humidity.
Now the gold leaf can be laid on with a slight overlap and dabbed on with a fairy hair brush and excess gold brushed off.
After about 24 hours, the gold-plated surface can be rubbed with silk wadding to increase the shine.
